Ready to drive change? Become a Trainee Driver Trainer with us!

Are you passionate about helping others grow? Do you enjoy solving real-world challenges and want to be part of a dynamic, fast-paced industry? If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Trainee Driver Trainer to help shape the future of our training team. This is a new role, offering the chance to make a real impact from day one.

About the role

As a Trainee Driver Trainer, you’ll be an integral part of our operation — empowering drivers with the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need to work safely and efficiently every day.

You’ll start by learning from an experienced team who will mentor and support you as you gain a solid understanding of the role. From understanding daily driver challenges to assessing performance and developing tailored training plans, this position offers the perfect mix of strategy and hands-on experience.

This is not just a job — it’s a career with a clear development path, and the chance to make a difference.

What you’ll be doing

Once trained, you’ll be:

  • Collaborating with Training and Recruitment teams to tailor training support.
  • Delivering engaging training sessions to new and existing drivers through a blended learning approach — including hands-on practical sessions in the yard, classroom-based learning, and one-on-one coaching over the phone.
  • Interviewing and assessing new driver candidates.
  • Promoting fuel efficiency, safety, and best driving practices.
  • Using telematics and performance data to provide constructive coaching.
  • Maintaining accurate, up-to-date training records.
  • Liaising with Transport Managers and Planners to ensure training is timely and impactful.
  • Communicating clearly and confidently across all levels of the business.

Hours & Flexibility

  • 40 hours per week (typically 07:30–16:00, Monday to Friday).
  • Driver Trainer flexibility is essential — early starts, late finishes, and occasional weekend work may be required.

About you

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Is confident using Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Has excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Is organised, proactive, and can manage priorities.
  • Enjoys learning and is ready to grow into a specialist role.
  • Is flexible and responsive to the demands of a fast-moving environment.

Why join us?

  • Be part of a supportive, forward-thinking team.
  • Opportunity to shape how we train, support, and empower our drivers.
  • Work in an essential, future-focused industry where your impact is visible every day.

Starting salary for this Trainee role is £26,000 per annum.
