Road Transport

There can’t be many companies where after fifty years of trading the company founder still takes an active roll in the day to day running of the company. Well here at Jack Richards and Son we are proud to say we are one such company.

The company, started by Jack in 1956 with one lorry and great deal of enthusiasm, has developed into one of the country's largest independent haulage companies, with a multi million pound turnover and a customer base including many of the countries leading household names.

The company head office is in the North West Norfolk market town of Fakenham, with another major depot in Northwich, Cheshire, with 2 smaller operating centres in Norwich and Wisbech.

Please feel free to browse our website and enjoy learning about our heritage, the services we offer and our plans to maintain Jack Richards and Son as one of the countries leading independent hauliers

PALLETWAYS

The Palletways business was started in 1994, with Jack Richards being one of the founding members of the pallet network. The idea behind Palletways is to enable the fast, efficient movement of goods ranging from a quarter pallet size to a double pallet size around the country and more recently Europe as well. Hauliers who join the Palletways network are given a postcode area (Jack Richards is the NR postcode area) and are then in charge of all the pallet deliveries and collections within the area.

Jack Richards started the Palletways division with one rigid lorry and one person in the office. Today there are four people in the office and eleven 18 tonne lorries on the road. Palletways is headed by an enthusiastic Andy Matthews who is striving to provide all existing and new customers with a first class service ensuring that customers goods go to the right place at the right time.

With their distinctive bright yellow cabs and blue curtains you can be sure to recognise a Jack Richards Palletways lorry where ever you maybe within the NR postcode.
