First Aid at Work Certificate

It is essential that you can trust the person who will care for you if you are injured or suddenly ill at work.

This course is suitable for anyone who might need to provide first aid to someone who is injured or becomes ill at work, and covers common injuries and illnesses. As a driver is likely to come across the scene of a road traffic accident, more than any one else, its important that they have a basic level of first aid knowledge.


The course includes:

  • Emergency Plan
  • Getting Help effectively, the Role of Community First Responders and calling the emergency services
  • Adult Chest Compressions, rescue breaths and when to stop
  • Resus Hygiene Alternatives to rescue breaths
  • Child and Baby Basic Life Support
  • Integrating Defib into the Emergency Plan
  • Neck and Spinal Injury
  • BLEEDS - Basic Dressings - Basic Shock and Fainting – Burns -Bones, Muscle and Joint Injuries
  • Understanding Unconsciousness and airway - Level of Unconsciousness
  • How to place casualty in recovery position - Emergency Plan Getting Help effectively

Course Objective:

By the end of the session, drivers should be confident enough to render basic first aid if an event should happen.  Delagates will also receive a First Aid at Work Certificate
