Serving & Ex-Military LGV Driver Roles
Jack Richards & Son are proud to be Career Transition Partnership Preferred Suppliers and members of the Armed Forces Covenant. We recognise the value serving personnel, reservists, veterans and military families bring to our business.
Which is why for many years, we have been championing the recruitment and training of qualified LGV drivers with little or no commercial driving experience from HM Forces.
Whether you’re currently in the military, HM Forces or are a former member, becoming a professional LGV driver is an excellent career path.
However, in order for you to secure your first LGV driver role, you are required to demonstrate on-road experience.
As part of your resettlement, funding may be available to HM Forces members to do your Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC), and other familiarisation training you may require which will enable you to drive as a commercial LGV driver when you leave the services.
Through our Academy, we deliver training & work placements (fully mentored up to 3 weeks) nationwide for HM Forces’ members during their resettlement period and thereafter offer jobs to qualified LGV drivers to give them the experience and support needed as part of their resettlement and to help progress in their new careers.
For more information about our LGV driver training & work placement programme for HM Forces members, please email HMAFjobs@jackrichards.co.uk or call 01328 853731.
Become the best driver you can be with Jack Richards’ driver mentoring scheme, specifically designed for drivers with little or no commercial experience.

The mentoring programme covers areas such as driver hours, EU regulations, working regulations and SAFED.
